WHAT IS IET FARADAY?
|
The IET Faraday Challenge is a world-wide engineering-based competition for schools, where teams of students compete against one another to see who can create and promote the best solution to a given challenge. All challenges are real-life, genuine engineering problems. The challenges give students an opportunity to draw upon their knowledge of design and engineering to produce a prototype to help solve these tough problems.
The IET Faraday programme was developed by the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET), one of Europe’s largest professional organisation in the field. The aim is to introduce a new generation to the sheer excitement of science, technology and engineering. |
Why IET Faraday?
The IET Faraday challenge aims to let students draw upon their knowledge of design and engineering to produce a prototype to help solve these tough problems.
Real-Life ProblemsTo expose students to the challenge of designing and making prototype solutions to real-life engineering problems
|
Integrated STEM EducationTo enhance the existing curriculum in schools as it encourages students to use their existing knowledge of science and engineering and allow them to integrate learning in science, technology and mathematics
|
LifeskillsFosters the skills of teamwork, communication and problem solving amongst students, similar to real life situations when solving challenges
